Coloured Squares (batik)

A really simple project with endless possibilities and combination. 

This set was done with a mix group, students special needs of different age group. Together with seven fabulous volunteers from Junior College and Corporate Level. 

The great thing about this project was the volunteers. When we started on the second group, they took over the demostration and execution of the squares One-on-one with the students :). It was great to withness the engagement and involvement of everyone. 

STEP 1: Cut square. 

              Fold into a triangle or rectangle

              Tie two or three rubber bands

STEP 2: Add Colours

STEP 3: Partially Dry (with hair dryer or place under sun).  

STEP 4: Untie Rubber bands, straighten fabric and leave to dry (overnight)
